Is there a way to mix'em up

Hi

I have a basic install of Redhat installed and have gotten the
files off Redhat to update to the 5.2 kernels and system files

The only Gnome files are Glib, Gtk needed for linunxconf
and the control panel I was hopping to be able to use tar files
to compile the rest in so I could use the CVS to get Gnome
and Enlightenment working

Is this possible without to much fuss?
