I've seen this "./config.log: Permission denied" message before. I think
it's a bug in libtool 1.2.
Workaround: Just cd into the source directory and do a "touch config.log"
then rerun autogen.sh and all should be well.
Upgrading libtool fixed the problem permanantly for me.
