ORBit troubles, and possible quick-fix (?)

For any of you out there with the strange ORBit crashing gnome stuff on
start, or the A?@--A:## filenames and .orbitrc troubles, see if you're
checking out the FOR_PANEL branch, or the normal branch of ORBit.  I was
having strange problems, and was checking out the FOR_PANEL branch.  I
tried the normal branch, and no more problems.
