A question about the su problem ...



I recall some discussion on this list previously about the problem of
running GNOME applications as a superuser while logged in as a regular
user. Here's an idea. Please excuse me if it's been said before and
doesn't work; I haven't been able to read the list too carefully.

If users have configured sudo such that they can run a command as su
without entering a password, there could be a "sudo" mode toggle in GNOME.
When it is on, all applications are spawned through sudo.

Would this be a plausible solution?
