Does other programs like 'whoami' work?

Does the following program print your login name and directory?

#include <glib.h>

main()
{
  g_print ("%s:%s\n",g_get_user_name (), g_get_home_dir ());
}

compile with gcc -o testit testit.c `glib-config --cflags --libs`
