By copying /usr/local/share/default.session to ~/.gnome/session everything
works fine.

But my understanding was that it should have worked even without copying
the file. I have quite a few users that I'd like to introduce this to as
what little I've seen has been very nice but I really don't wan't to copy
this file for each one of them. Shouldn't the default file be read
automatically?

I don't think I have a file permission problem

[jamest@calvin jamest]$ ls -ald /usr/local/share
drwxr-xr-x 32 root root 1024 Mar 16 20:31 /usr/local/share

[jamest@calvin jamest]$ ls -ald /usr/local/share/default.*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1600 Mar 16 20:31 /usr/local/share/default.session
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 27 Mar 16 20:31 /usr/local/share/default.wm

Any ideas?
