Ok, i will put The Big One here ;-) Please don't throw with stones...
I downloaded Gnome 1.0 and installed it on a Red Hat 5.2 box (rpm -Uv *.rpm).
The install went fine.
Then, i tried to use it with Enlightenment 0.15, wich comes from the same
ftp.gnome.org directory. But... it doesn't keep the settings (background,
screensaver...). If i logout and restart X again, i get the default settings
again. And i think the session-management is bad too.
My ~/.xinitrc file looks like this:
==============================
enlightenment &
panel
==============================
Someone told me to put this
==============================
exec enlightenment &
gnome-session
==============================
instead of that. But with this file, it doesn't start at all! So, what is the
"official" way to start Gnome with E ?
What the hell, there is no place where someone can read this simple thing:
how to install Gnome 1.0 + Enlightenment 0.15 on a Red Hat 5.2 ???... This
must be put in the front of all docs, dammit...
