Re: a question of pronunciation



Just thought I'd mention that to an Icelander, this discussion seems kind of
silly. For me, there's no ambiguity. I just pronounce the gn in gnome like
the gn in "gnægð" and a few other Icelandic words. Try saying eggnog without
the e and you'll know how that sounds.

And does it strike anyone else as somewhat lame that even after decades of
exponential growth in computer technology, we still can't write phonetic
symbols in email and expect them to arrive unmangled?
