Re: GNOME and WindowMaker

I couldn't even get gnome-session to run..... it is in .Xclients but it
starts X and then nothing.

What am I missing?? OK, scratch that.... I let it sit for a while and it
finally came up. but there is a problem...... When I go into the
configuration for the window manager in control-center, there is an entry
for windowmaker but the path to WPrefs is incorrect. I can't edit that
particular window manager entry. for now, I make a symlink to fix that
incorrect prefs thing. I added another Window manager entry to fix it and
that seems to work. Log out actually logs out now.... the only thing I am
now questioning is the screensaver. Also, when I added the window manager
in control-center..... should "window manager is session managed" be
checked??

thanks alot,
Neb

I had similar problems. The following e-mail snippet may help. Once
gnome-session runs OK then you use to control-center to switch your window
manager to Window Maker.

There is a bug in the latest gnome-core. It installs default.session in
$(prefix)/share, but gnome-session expects to find it in
$(prefix)/share/gnome. Copying the file accross to the correct location
will also fix the problem. The bug should be fixed in the next tarball
release.
