I understand that this is StarOffice's fault; I'll probably send them
hate mail over the weekend. I've seen the thread in other mailing lists....
I'm just pointing out that if the RPM's get built to unnecessarily depend
on other relatively bleeding edge bits, the user community drops, sometimes
substantially. There is only so much bleeding people can/will do.
Believe it or not, for some people (myself included) Linux may be a
relatively new thing, and messing with my C library is not something I
undertake lightly, much less when it would cost me an application. I'm
old to UNIX, and have worked with X since before it was called X, but
am still finding my way in the Linux world, having spent much of my time
recently working on Web stuff and growing tired of Windoze blue screens...
Just the view of an old fart, if you will...
