I downloaded the rpms from
gnomeftp.wgn.net:/pub/gnome/gnome-1.0/redhat/i386 and tried to upgrade
everthing, but several packages won't upgrade properly. Here's what
happens:

# rpm -Uvh enlightenment-0.15.3-5.i386.rpm
enlightenment #################################################error
 1 reading header: Success
unpacking of archive failed on file (null): 3: Success
error: enlightenment-0.15.3-5.i386.rpm cannot be installed

I tried using --force and they still won't upgrade.

These are the affected packages:
 control-center-1.0.3-2.i386.rpm enlightenment-0.15.3-5.i386.rpm
 gmc-4.5.26-2.i386.rpm gnome-core-1.0.3-7.i386.rpm
 gnome-games-1.0.1-5.i386.rpm gnome-libs-1.0.3-4.i386.rpm
 gnome-libs-devel-1.0.3-4.i386.rpm gnorpm-0.7-1rh52.i386.rpm
 gnotepad+-1.1.2-2.i386.rpm gnumeric-0.18-1.i386.rpm
 gtk+-1.2.0-2.i386.rpm gtk-engines-0.5-8.i386.rpm
 mc-4.5.26-2.i386.rpm

Also, it looks like gdm (or something) is crashing everytime before the
chooser is displayed. If I switch to runlevel 3 I can use startx ok, but
as you can guess I get Fvwm instead of enlightenment.

Does anyone know what's causing this, and what I need to do?

Even though they raised the rate for first class mail in the United
