btw, I never had X hang like that when running E 0.14 or fvwm95. Also, 
if I am using gnome-session and it hangs, killing the panel causes X to 
die, saying that it caught a signal 11. doing a ps shows that everything 
is running: E, X, panel, MC, etc. Sorry that I didn't put this in my 
original post.
