It deals exactly whith this issue.
Though in this case you should probably make it clear that it is not
gnome that depends on enlightenment (and that should also be reflected
in the packages setup). Maybe you could use a Starbuck-configuration
package which will then depend on enlightenment which contains the
default setup you want to pop up.
Personally I find configuring windowmaker to play along with gnome much
easier (has a nice gui configuration tool as well) ;-)
