Can't run any app with gnome-session

Hi! 
I have RH 5.2(gnome-libs and gnome core 1.03). 
I tried starting gnome with gnome-session, it starts ok with gmc. But exits
to console when I start any app (Eterm, control-center...). I'm using
/usr/share/gnome/default.session as ~/.gnome/session and gnome -session
executable in .Xclients. Could be Banshee X server fault, I'm not sure.
