calendar questions

i am in the unfortunate circumstance of running linux on a 14" monitor.
and unforutnately with the default font size being so darned small (i
know
i can change it, it is just such a hassle) i have decided to run
X-windows at
800x600 resolution.  the problem is that the gonme calendar is aboug 700
pixels
tall and cannot be shrunk by any way that i can figure out

does anyone have any ideas how i can resize that window? any help would
be
appreciated
