It is still being actively developed by a group of people.  Check out the
balsa-list [subscribe at balsa-list-request@gnome.org, archive at
http://www.gnome.org/mailing-lists/archives/balsa-list/] to get more
involved in the project, or to get help with whatever problems you are
having.

Also, if you think nothing new has happened in Balsa since December, you
must not have even looked at the FTP site, since the version there is
dated January.  Even more has happened since on the CVS server, but they
haven't considered it ready to make a formal release, as far as I know.
