Thanks and another problem

Hey guys thanks to those of you who helped me out with the graphics issue...it's working fine now...except for one thing. When I ran xf86config and specified my mouse as Microsoft Intellimouse...which it is, when I started gnome it went crazy jumping all over the screen, etc. I thought maybe IRQ confilct or something? I let it default to /dev/mouse when it asked...should I have done something different? Sorry to be asking so many stupid questions but I have to get help somewhere and the HOWTOs have not been very helpful (no offense if any of you had a part in writing them). Thanks!
