WHAT'S GOING ON?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oooo-wheee! Someone made a Web page starting from a tarball of my
gnome-pixmaps working directory. Get the details from Gnotices, the
announcement was posted recently.

Unfortunately, the site isn't up-to-date anymore... since it's gone
up, I've got so many contributions that it'll need an update soon. :)

I've been told to ask the community for an icon for Eye of Gnome, the
new image viewer based on the way cool gdk-pixbuf library. The author
would like to see an eyeball wearing a gnome's hat. Any volunteers?



WHAT HAS BEEN DONE:

I've assigned an icon to gtop;
the clockmail applet has been given an icon without my help;
so has Tick-A-Stat;
the gnome-deskguide.png pixmap has been honed once more by Stefan;
Electric Eyes' icon has been replaced with a shaped version;
GULP uses mc/i-printer.png as an interim solution.

Bitgrazer: has text, is not shaped
Glines: could use transparency
HAL 2001: both the icon and the actual panel pixmap are not shaped and
          thus there's an ugly black square around them
Logview icon: metaphor is not international
X-Chat: is a logo, not shaped
Imlib Properties: Yet Another Blank Page Icon
Screem: is a logo
Utilities menus: Swiss Army knife could do with more contrast

REMARKS

Send any ideas, remarks or contributions to me as I have now got
official permission to add them to the CVS tree. Have a look at
GITHNYBM if you want to make icons.

Don't compress icons individually when submitting them to me. Either
pack them into a tarball or (preferred) send unpacked PNGs. Zipping
PNG is pointless as PNG compresses internally.

If you've got any nice, big logos for Gnome applications, please
submit them; they'll be needed for Phase 2.

Please, please, please: If you want to make icons, make icons that are
mentioned in the report or in GITHNYBM as needed. Don't send me
another dozen of ZIP drive icons or of Adobe PDF icons. Thanks.
