Hello,
Sineario
Currently I am running Linux Redhat 6.0 with the default GNOME X Windows
Manager.
Problem
I type in "startx" and I get this black screen and ocassionally it halts
when it displays the GNOME logo and when I click on "start" and select
some applications such as X11winamps it does sod all or you play a mp3
then X11Winamps crashes and I have to kill -9 theprocess.
Redhat 6.0 sometimes claim I have not properly dismounted and yet I typed
in "reboot" or "shutdown -r now" or halt"
But for some reason when I install Freebsd with the fvwm95 X windows
manager it seems to work prefectly.
Question:
Should I try to install GNOME mannually?
Has anyone experienced a simlar problem?
How can I find a resolution to the above problem?
THank you for your assistance in the matter :)
