You're wrong.
Mandrake isn't just "Red Hat with KDE".
Mandrake is very active in terms of GPL'ed software development,
kernel hacking, and bugs-patching  in existing software... (including  gnome).

Saying such things without the necessary knowledge is nothing but stupidity.
