okay, i understand the 'why' of only having
exec gnome-session
in the .xinitrc. however, i put the
exec afterstep &
in their because one of the earlier releases of Gnome would continually
load Enlightenment when i wanted (and configured though the control-center)
to run afterstep. i guess i forgot to remove it when i upgraded to a
more recent gnome. but what i don't understand is why did it work up
until now (for a while even with the October Gnome)?
on Elliots' suggestion i ran gnome-bug (and i'm assuming this will send
off the proper information?).
thanks everyone
ps i realize that i'm asking questions that prolly don't have an answer
unless all the information is relayed. i hope running gnome-bug will
help. i guess it's time i go to the gnome site and learn how to send a
bug report (or did i with gnome-bug?) ;-)
