Problem compiling gdk-pixbuf

This problem occurs when I try to make an RPM from the tarball myself,
or when I use the posted SRPM:

This is with gnome-core 1.1.8.1 and gnome-libs 1.0.55

I'd prefer to install it via RPM if possible.

Any suggestions?
