During a fit of intermitent cluelessness, I hit "send" before revising
the "To:" field, when on 25 Aug, Telsa Gwynne wrote:

I see what you mean about his answers, Telsa. <g>
But has any thought been given to *not* defaulting to xscreensaver??
<potential flamebait>
While I find some of the modes in xscreensaver pretty cool--especially
the ones reminiscent of old Amiga screen hacks, on the whole I prefer
xlockmore.

Has any thought been given to allowing the user to configure other
screensavers via GNOME? Especially since jmz has nothing to do with the
GNOME implementation. Or is this something that would become too much of
a headache?
For now, I guess I stick w/ xautolock & xlockmore, but enqiring minds
want to know . . .

P.S. Xautolock doesn't work w/ XF86-4.0.1 -- probably due to some libs
that have not yet been ported over. So for now, I've simply created a
panel launcher with the same icon & comment that launches xlock instead.
Evil thought: maybe I could write a sawfish replet to launch xlock for
me . . . (Boy, I sure hope John Harper is ignoring this . . . ;-)
