I've been using Enlightenment 0.16 for a while, but switched to Sawmill
recently, mainly just to try it out. It is better than E in many ways, but
the lack of a good pager is certainly a drawback.

Yep. The E pager is brilliant. Maybe someone could extract this part of the E
source code and rewrite it as a stand-alone, GNOME compliant pager?
