Esound went kablooie

Hi. I've been updating RPMs on my RH6.0 system and it seems esound isn't
working anymore. When I try to run VMware through the esd wrapper I get
this:

vmware: error in loading shared libraries: libesddsp.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

And when running XMMS, the plugin list doesn't list esound anymore and I
get the following on stdout:

/usr/lib/xmms/Output/libesdout.so: undefined symbol: esd_close

By the way, /usr/lib/libesddsp.so, /usr/lib/libesd.so etc. DO exist.
Anyone has any clue? My RPM versions are:
