  I will remove the SNAP string from the RPMs I build now.
The libxml RPMs are usually build by me and stored in two pplaces:
  - the contrib of gnome.org
  - ftp://rpmfind.net/pub/veillard/

 1.8.5 is believed to be stable, and has been tested for gnumeric.
