	Heh, good point (although I'll again point to the Emacs split as
an example where political differences can have technical repercussions).
The trademark and fund allocation tasks are more relevant and
to-the-point.

	Perhaps if there were something like the Foundation to make
public, leadership-like statements and say, "No, we will NEVER use DCOM!"
(etc., whatever) the negative buzz would die down.

	Then again, maybe not.

	Gnome is not, but I think "Gnome Compliant" should be, as should
the Gnome foot (both owned by the Gnome Foundation).  This would allow us
to set quality and conformance standards for 3rd-party products.
