Clipping Files

While were on the subject of single click there is 
another feature of the desktop that Apple "invented"
clipping files. I found these to be real time savers
and windows( and unix) never had anything like it.
Basically anything you can select and copy/cut to
the clipboard can instead be draged and dropped
on the decktop. A clipping file is then created with this
selection. then it can be dropped onto any app and to
the app it looks like a regular paste.

Since Nautilist will be handling the desktop once
it replaces gmc will this feature be possible?
