Magicdev is a RedHat thing, not a GNOME thing, in reality.  Complain to them.  ~,^

BTW, see if you can get RedHat to use Supermount instead.  It basically does what MagicDev
does, but does it in a lot cleaner way (a kernel patch instead of a daemon hack).
MagicDev was always irritating in RedHat, and I like Supermount a lot better... That'll
solve a lot of the problems people keep having, too.  ^,^
