I think the KDevelop project (www.kdevelop.org) has matured into a great
IDE that also supports GNOME its current version is 1.2 and is quit stable
from what I can tell. About a year ago I researching all of the IDEs that
were available for Linux at the time and I played around with Code
Crusader a bit and definately liked the product. It was buit with the jx
C++ toolkit. At that time KDevelop was coming along but not at a 1.0 stage
yet. Ultimately I couldn't break away from the Emacs/gcc/gdb combo. If you
throw in Glade it just doesn't get any better. There is also a GNOME
specific project called gIDE that is integrating Glade, into an IDE along
with an Icon editor etc.. I haven't had any time to see the current state
of the project. You can find its URL in the software section of
www.gnome.org.
