Dear GNOME,

I am a proud new user to GNOME. What are the licences attached to the GNOME softwear. Lets just say I stripped everthing down to bare bones then rebuilt it differently would that be "breaching" the license aggreement? Or do I have to go deeeper and start from the kernel only and make customize my desktop my own way?
