Hello all,
My config is Rh5.2 with October Gnome and E0.16.0-2. I have two
different sound problems :
First of all, I have been configuring my sound card and finally managed
to get it working (or at least partially see below). So I opened GMIX3.0
to see what it was. But now each time I start an Gnome/E session GMIX3.0
is opened although I close it before I log out. So question is how could
I stop this phenomenon. I am not sure but I think this could be linked
to the fact that at boot I get the message aumix: error opening
dev/mixer :no such device. But I have looked in /dev and there is a
mixer device.
Second problem : I am able to play my music CDs in Fvwm session fromm
root account but not in Gnome as user. When I try to play in Gnome I get
an error message saying that there was an error accessing the CDROM and
that i should check CDROM support was compiled or that I have the right
permission for acess to the device. I thought that would be solved by
putting user option in fstab for cdrom bit it hasnt changed a thing. So
I wa thinking this could be due to a special option to set in Gnome as
it is working in Fvwm.
Thanks in advance,
