Keyboard problems

Hi,
I've been running Gnome under Redhat 6.1 for some time now. Recently I
started using GDM for the login screen. Under GDM, I just chose English as
my default language but now my backspace and delete buttons have stopped
working on my keyboard. What do I have to do in order to rectify this
problem.
