how to suppress core dumps

How can I suppress all core dumps under gnome? I have "limit
coredumpsize 0" in my .cshrc file, which does the trick for jobs
started from my shell, but it doesn't effect jobs started from the
gnome-panel. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
