Some time ago I wrote a small Gnome app, as an introduction into Gnome
programming, and because I thought it would be a useful tool.
What does it do? -- It simply tries to locate all of the library files on
your system (basically, those in /lib, /usr/lib, and /etc/ld.so.conf, but
that is configurable) and sorts them into a GtkCTree. I use it to check
what libraries I have installed, and to see if I have multiple versions of
the same library installed (in different directories, for example).
There are probably a number of bugs to be fixed (memory leaks,
autoconf-stuff, internationalization) and maybe some design flaws, but it
works for me.
Would anyone be interested in such an app? If so, I will set up a website
for it and start writing documentation and so on.
Oh, since every thing should have a name, I named it Solist (from
.so-list), but maybe I should change that name...
Herman
