Re: [Helix Updates] GNOME 1.0 "Bongo GNOME" Now Available -- Convince me!!!!!!

Hi,

I am a happy user of Gnome. I have a LAN at home. I run RedHat 6.2 in
currently four boxes.

After reading the announcement, I spent a good while at the Helix site
to find out how I could download the Helix Gnome package. Honestly, I
was looking for one huge, or many small, *.rpm files to download. I went
around the site, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I actually
found myself going round in circles.

The following alternatives were there:
1) Buy a 'distribution' which will cost me a lot more than one download
plus is not what I want and will take time to get to Europe. (Or ship
UPS 24 hours and pay a lot. BTW, 24 hours UPS to Europe always means at
least 48 hours. It sucks.)
2) Download source code and compile it myself. (I don't even have the
development stuff installed, cause I lack the time for these actions.
(Unfortunately, since I'm a developer.))
3) Run the Helix Gnome installer, that will download and install it for
me. (Wait a minute, I've got four boxes here and there will soon be a
few more... I can't do an on-line installation per box. This just cannot
be the intention.)

What I want, is to do a download of a binary package for RedHat to my
server and then install it in as many boxes as I want.

Now, please tell me that I'm blind and didn't see/find the *real*
download spot for a binary RH distribution of Gnome.

Otherwise, please convince me (in any your way) that I should stick to
Gnome.

Regards
Gustav
