can't get into gnome

hi,,

  I uninstalled kde2...........nice but way too buggy at
moment...........
anyway i did make uninstall in support/kdelibs and kdebase but now I
can't get gnome come up
typing gdm............

just gives

"unable to open shared object file libaudiofile.so.3 that or
libaudiofile.so.0.........not sure which..........
I wouldn't have thought this would cause grief with gnome...........

i tried looking on  source cd that came with RH7.0 that i use and
nadda.........no libaudio package i can see........I know i'm seen this
package someplace but do not recall.........no luck doing search at
redhat..
