Config cleanups of the xfs or the basic X can also be needed. The best
way to know what is happening (or at least try to know) is to read the
files in /var/gdm/, they could have info about what is happening.
Files / dirs in /tmp/ sometimes are responsable of problems too, so
clean /tmp/.
