Hi,
over the last months and years, I learned a lot about autoconf and
automake, mostly by fixing build errors. I do a fairly good job
debugging a broken build. But now the weirdest build problem ever
happened to me.
===BEGIN TRANSCRIPT===
[mawa audrey]: ~/gnome-cvs/gnome-utils$ autogen.sh --help
processing .
deletefiles is macros/gnome-gettext.m4
Creating ./aclocal.m4 ...
Running gettextize... Ignore non-fatal messages.
You should update your own `aclocal.m4' by adding the necessary
macro packages gettext.m4, lcmessage.m4 and progtest.m4 from
the directory `/aclocal'
Making ./aclocal.m4 writable ...
Running aclocal -I macros ...
Running autoheader...
NONE:0: /usr/bin/m4: ERROR: EOF in string
Running automake --gnu ...
configure.in: 235: required file `./[AC_PREREQ([2.12.in' not found
Running autoconf ...
NONE:0: /usr/bin/m4: ERROR: EOF in string
**Error**: autoconf failed.
====END TRANSCRIPT====
Can anyone enlighten me? This happened with a freshly checked out
gnome-utils HEAD.
Autoconf version 2.14
Automake version 1.4
