I just spent hours compiling gnome on Peanut linux
just to find that the panel was stuck in the middle of the screen,an error
message saying "can't find mc default icons",and no working panel
applets.
I can click one of the side buttons on the
panel to hide it then it will go down to the bottom where it belongs and
stay there but that stupid error message keeps popping up over and over
again.I'm going crazy here guys.Is there a site or webpage that I can look at
that might help me
Installed gnome in /opt/gnome and all the
apps work just fine but no applets.AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGG.
There has to be some script or config file
that'll set things straight but I have no clue as to what or where.Could it
have something to do with permissions perhaps?Everything is owned
by root just like in KDE.Could that be a problem?
Please help.I'd really like to get this thing
working so I can see just how good gnome really is.Thanks in
advance
