I don't know whether "Sun ultrasparc 5" means "Solaris 2.6", because I
am not a Sun/Solaris user myself. But if it does mean that, then see
http://www.gnome.org/faqs/users-faq/compiling.html and the question
about "gnome-libs won't compile on Solaris 2.6. It fails with a
complaint about Berkeley DB lacking DB 1.85 compatibility". If it
doesn't mean that, then see Paul Barnfeather's wonderful wonderful
"Building GNOME on Solaris" pages at
ttp://www.clanger9.demon.co.uk/computer/gnome/

I have also seem some discussion about db versions on gnome-devel-list,
but it was too hard for me. It will be in the archives for this month's
stuff though if you want to look.
