 you would have to check out gnorpm help or man pages to see 
> if it can accept command line actions.

just enter as the program gnorpm -qp

or dor more options the usuall:

gnomrpm --help


That will then allow you to query and depending upon wether the app is
installed, give the option to either install or update.
