Menu title missing

Hi,
   Since some time, the menu title on my gnome-panel menu's is missing.
I do not remember when it happned, neither the foot-menu nor a private
menu have the top entry title any more. I found it missing when I wanted
to add a new entry to my private menu...., there was no gui for this any
more and I only could add it by manually creating the .desktop file...

Please, tell me what configuration option can correct this...
