Suggestion For Boosting Gnome Usage

Gnome is really staring come along, especially with Gnome 2.

A lot can be done to promote Gnome by establishing a usenet group for
Gnome.

As it is now everytime a Gnome user has a question about Gnome s/he must run a search to find a mailing list, subscribe to the mailing list, post a question to the mailing list, get the answer, unsubscribe from the mailing list, and do it all again unless the user wants a lot
of unwanted email in their mail box.

There is a comp.windows.x.kde, how about establishing a
comp.windows.x.gnome ?

It would make getting Gnome help a lot easier for many users, making
it more likely that a lot of people experimenting with Gnome will be
more likely to stick with Gnome.

It will greatly improve communication about Gnome. It would be a lot easier to post suggestions. It would also be a boon for developers who could occasionally lurk on such a group to see what issues people have
with gnome, want from gnome etc.

Many people simply will not bother with posting these message.. if they have to go find and subscribe a mailing list.

Just a thought
