Gnome 2.0 and Dual Monitors?

I installed Gnome 2 and I am unable to get it to load on both monitors
when inside XFree86. I am running XFree86 4.2, FreeBSD 4.6, and
Gnome 2.0 (not the final). I have my .xinitrc as follows:

/usr/X11R6/bin/gnome-session

Gnome 2.0 loads on my first screen, but the 2nd screen stays blank.
I am able to move my mouse between the screens. When i start KDE 3.0
it loads on both monitors just fine.

How do I get Gnome to load on both screens?
