Exactly. Evolution does not have been ported to gnome2 yet. That will
start after 1.2 AFAIK.
I should mention I once compiled Evolution from source too and
its..hmm..lets say a bit complicated, so if there is no need to be on
the very bleeding edge I suggest using Ximians developer snapshots (see
ftp.ximian.com or redcarpet).
