Re: fatal error



It's hard to say what would cause this. Try logging in as root and
renaming the following directories in your home directory:
.gnome/
.gnome2/
.gconfd/
.gconf/
.gnome-private/

Then log out and try to log in again as yourself. This will give you a
clean slate, at least. You may be able to get by with just renaming one
of those directories (e.g., .gnome -> dotgnome).
