Question about pkg-config

Hi,
I tried to install glib 2.2.3, the installed failed
halfway, so i installed glib 2.0.6 using fink,
however, if i type
pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0
it gives me 2.2.3, and some installs wont work, how
can i make it see that 2.0.6 is installed?
