building gnome-hello for book

Hi,

I cvsed the 1.4 branch of gnome-hello using the
gnome-hello-1-4 revision of gnome-hello module. After running
autoconf, ./configure gives:

loading cache ./config.cache
./configure: line 525: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_CONFIG_HEADER(config.h)'
./configure: line 525: `AM_CONFIG_HEADER(config.h)'

This is for HP's book.

This is on RedHat 7.1. What are I doing wrong???
