Hello, I am not a list subscriber. I would appreciate if anyone could respond to me on this problem. I didn't want to subscribe for a single post. If I must subscribe, please let me know and I will.
I am running Fedora Core 3 and Gnome.
I am having the most annoying problem. If I lock my screen for a while, and then come back, when I unlock my screen, Gnome (I assume) tries to launch my default browser! WHY is it doing this? I cannot for the life of me figure out what process is responsible for this and how to prevent it. I've been through every configuration menu I can find. Even if I go into "preferred applications" and change my default browser command to a shell script which does nothing, Gnome gives me an error message instead.
I have six desktops. One of them has a browser running. I assume this is typical. Why in the world would anyone want a browser to suddenly launch just because they have unlocked the screen? Perhaps this is a mail-related thing?
Can anyone help with this? Sorry if it's not a Gnome issue . . .
Thanks
Erik
